Healthy Holiday Foods

The holidays are coming and that means the big family feasts and festive parties. Its very hard to maintain your diet because of all the temptations. Don't deprive yourself of everything, just eat things in moderation. This will still allow you to enjoy the food and be healthy at the same time. Below is a list of healthy food choices.

Appetizers
- take the veggies without the dip
- grab whole grain crackers without the spread

Drinks
- choose a small glass of wine instead of the eggnog
- sip tea and water instead of punches

Main Courses
- turkey and chickem are healthy choices, but skip out on the gravy
- choose the white meat instead of the dark meat though
- take small helpings
- grab small portions of the pasta dishes
- savor every bite

Side Dishes
- choose fruit and veggie sides instead of those with butter and creams
- beware of the extra salt, sugar and fat
- choose whole grain rolls and skip the butter

Desserts
- cut yourself some slack
- take small portions of the desserts
- even pick up samples just eat in moderation
